학교소개
1881년에 설립되었으며, 지역 자선가였던 Mary Ann Baxter가 과학, 문학, 순수미술에 있어 남녀모두 평등하게 교육받을 기회를 위해 학교를 설립하였다. 오랜 기간 University of St Andrews에 소속되어 있다가 1967년 분리되어 자체적으로 운영되고 있다. 1994년 던컨 오브 조던스톤예술대학과 간호대학을 병합하여 종합대학으로 자리를 갖추게 되었고, 디자인 학과의 경우는 던컨 오브 조던스톤대학의 명성을 이어받아서 스코틀랜드에서 1위로 평가받고 있으며 RAE에서 4점의 높은 점수를 받았다. 40%의 학생이 스코틀랜드 외부에서 온 학생들이며 9,000여명의 학부생과 1,100여명의 대학원생들이 재학 중이다.
