프로그램 소개

On Campus Plus at Concordia College는 뉴욕 내 또는 미국 각 지역에 있는 희망 학교 진학을 위한 빠르고 독특한 패스웨이 과정이다. Kings Education의 Pathway 과정은 미국 대학 편입 시스템 특유의 유연성에 잘 부합하도록 디자인 되어있다. 학생들은 Concordia College에서 1학년 과정을 마친 후 보스턴 전 지역 또는 미국 전역에 위치한 다양한 대학교에 진학해 학위를 받거나 Concordia College에서 학업을 계속해 4학년을 마칠 수 있다. 본 Kings Education On Campus Plus 과정은 국제학생들이 미국 학생들과 동일한 클래스에서 수업을 받으며 미국 수업 시스템에 적응할 수 있도록 돕는다. 캠퍼스 내에 위치한 Kings Center 직원들이 1학년 기간 동안의 수업 계획에 대해 상담해주고, 이후 어느 학교에서 어떤 과정을 공부하고 싶은지에 대해 조언해 준다. 패스웨이 학생들은 Concordia College에서 학업을 계속하거나 University of Rochester, City University of New York: Baruch College, State University of New York Geneseo, State University of New York: Albany 등과 같은 파트너학교에 편입해 학업을 지속할 수 있으며 기타 명문대학으로 편입할 수도 있다.

프로그램 특장점

- 학업을 시작한 곳에서 학업을 마치지 않고 편입이 가능하기 때문에 개인적인 진로 선택이 가능

- 첫날부터 미국 학생들과 똑같이 대학 생활을 하고, 미국 학생들과 동일한 기간에 학위 취득이 가능

기간

2 학기 (2 Semesters)

* 영어 성적 부재 시 Undergraduate Preparation Program (UPP) 과정 (1term당 약 11~12주, 총 7 terms로 구성) 수강 시 기간이 늘어날 수 있음 – 예) TOEFL iBT 36~74점 사이일 경우 약 1~3 terms의 UPP 수강이 요구됨

과정구성

1. 3개의 패스웨이 아카데믹 모듈 (아래 모듈 중 한 개 선택):

      - Pre-Engineering

     - Business

     - Digital Media / Video Production

수학 관련 전공 학생들은 Pre-Engineering Pathway를 마치기 위해 하단 조건 충족 필요:

• receive a grade of C or better in MAT 100
• take MAT 121 to satisfy their specified Mathematical Reasoning requirement for the Concordia Distinctive-Liberal Arts Core
• take MAT 246 as part of their Experiential Learning requirement
• take Mat 311 Development of Mathematical Thought and Methods as a required designated writing process course (WAC)
• Students are strongly encouraged to join the Mathematics Team early in their studies to train for the International Contest in Mathematical Modeling.

Completion of The Concordia Distinctive Liberal Arts Core is required with three modifications:

• a specified Mathematical Reasoning requirement of MAT 121 Probability and Statistics or MAT 201 Pre-calculus;
• a specified Human Thought and Behavior requirement of SOC 151 Elements of Sociology or SWK 110, Human Needs/Societal Responses;
• The World Cultures requirement may also be met by GEO 101 World Geography.
• A minimum grade of C is required in all courses applied to the program (and in all given business course prerequisites). A candidate who earns less than a C in a required business course will be required to repeat the course.
• Students wishing to transfer accounting credits will be tested for appropriate placement.
• Students must earn a minimum of 60 hours of Liberal Arts and Science credits.

New Media Communications and Digital Production관련 학업을 마치기 위해 하단 조건 충족 필요:

To complete studies in the New Media Communications and Digital Production Area of Study, students are required to:

- earn a total of 18 credit hours in New Media courses, with 9 credits in 200-level, and another 9 credits in 300- and 400-level courses complete a Capstone Course in one of the areas of their Liberal Studies Program.

- complete a Capstone Course* in one of the areas of their Liberal Studies Program.

* Capstone course – a course offered as part of an academic major aiming to bring together major aspects of the academic discipline(s) related to the said major.

Pathway

입학조건

- Completed Senior High School or equivalent and a minimum GPA of 2.5

- TOEFL iBT 74 (minimum sub-scores of 16) / IELTS 6.0 (minimum of 6.0 on Listening/Reading, 5.5 on Writing/Speaking)*

* 만약 토플 점수가 36~74점 사이일 경우 지원은 가능하지만, 1~3 terms의 University Preparation Program (UPP) 수강이 필요

UPP과정

- 총 1~4 terms 로 구성되며 주당 평균 25시간의 수업과 함께 12~15시간의 개인 공부 시간으로 이루어져 있음.

- 입학 조건 중 영어 점수가 부족한 경우, Pathway 과정 전에 수강하게 되는 과정. 학생들은 UPP 과정을 통해 영어 실력을 향상 시킴과 동시에 미국 대학 시스템과 수업 방식에 익숙해지게 됨.

- 프로그램 구성:

   (3) Undergraduate Seminars

   (4) TOEFL Test Preparation

   * 추가 비용 지불 시 extra tutoring/test preparation 제공 가능

- 학생들은 각 텀마다 평균적으로 토플 점수 10~15점 정도가 향상되게 되고 Pathway 프로그램에 요구되는 레벨을 받을 때까지 텀을 추가하게 됨
