살포드 대학교의 Media city UK는 2011년에 완공되었으며 영국 대학 중 유일하게 방송관련 시설 및 장비가 갖춰진 곳이다.
6개의 BBC 건물 중심에 위치해 있으며 그 덕분에 영화, 방송관련 전공이 우세하며 기술적인 부분 뿐만 아니라 학생들의 재능의 개발 및 육성을 돕고 있다.
학교소개
살포드 대학교는 맨체스터 중심부에서 1.5마일 떨어진 강변의 큰 캠퍼스에 위치해있다. 1896년에 설립되어 이 지역 사회 전반에 걸쳐 교육의 기회를 제공하며 현재 영국의 가장 큰 대학들 중의 하나로 1,500여명의 석사과정 재학생과 14,000여명의 학부과정 학생들이 공부하고 있다. 총16개의 단과대학으로 구성되며 졸업생들의 90% 이상의 구직으로 높은 취업률을 보이고 있다. 1996년 HEFCE를 대표한 교육평가에서 15개 전공영역에서 21점(24점만점)을 기록하였다. Design Management학과를 포함하여 영국 중부권지역에서 Art&Design의 대표적인 학교로 유명하다.
