학문적으로도 널리 인정받고 특히 스포츠 분야에서 강점을 드러내고 있는 Loughborough 는 교육, 스포츠 연구에 대한 명성을 자랑한다. 예술, 문화 분야의 전공 또한 5년 동안 영국 내 Top 3~6위의 높은 순위를 차지하여 이 분야의 높은 수준의 학업을 목표하는 학생에게 적합한 대학이다. 아트 앤 디자인 분야에서 5년간 5위에 든 유일한 학교로 볼 수 있다. 이 지역의 인구 대부분이 Loughborough 대학생이며, 학생이 직접적으로 소유한 학생연합은 영국 내에서 유일하다. 안전하고 밝은 분위기의 캠퍼스는 학업, 생활, 스포츠를 위한 시설을 두루 갖추고 있어 편리하다.
