학교소개

미국 일리노이 주 시카고에 있는 공립대학교(주립대학교)로 일리노이 대학교 중 하나이다. 일리노이 대학교 시카고는 시카고 근방에서는 가장 큰 대학교 이다. 15개의 단과대학과 함께 약 25,000명의 학생다니고 있고, 미국에서 가장 큰 의과대학을 갖고 있다. 약칭은 ‘UIC’이다. 19세기 말에 설립된 시카고의학대학(1859), 내과·외과대학(1882), 컬럼비아치과대학(1891) 등 시카고에 있던 의학 관련 대학들이 1896~1897년 사이에 어버너와 섐페인에 위치한 일리노이대학교에 합병되었고 1913년에는 일리노이대학교의 의과대학, 치과대학, 약학대학 등이 되었다. 이후 의학교육과 연구가 급격히 발전하였고 일리노이대학교 시카고전문대학도 함께 설립하게 되었다. 일리노이대학교 시스템은 일리노이대학교 어버너-섐페인 캠퍼스(University at Illinois-Urbana-Champaign)를 비롯해 시카고 캠퍼스, 스프링필드 캠퍼스로 이루어진다. 2010년 기준 응용보건대학, 건축·미술대학, 경영대학, 치과대학, 교육대학, 공과대학, 오너스대학, 인문·과학대학, 의과대학, 약학대학, 간호대학, 공중위생대학, 사회복지대학, 도시계획·공공사업대학과 대학원에서 다양한 학부·대학원과정을 제공한다.

* International Admission Requirements

1. Completed and signed printed or online application

2. $50 non-refundable application fee (in U.S. dollars)

3. Evidence of English competency
- Official scores from the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). A minimum score of 80 (internet-based: IBT) with subsection minimum requirements of: writing 21, speaking 20, listening 17, reading 19 or 550 (paper-based) or 213 (computer-based). Please note that TOEFL scores over two years old are invalid.

- Official IELTS scores. A minimum total score of 6.5, with subsection minimums as follows: listening 6, writing 6, reading 6, speaking 6

(Applicants whose TOEFL/IELTS scores do not meet the minimum requirement may study English at the UIC Tutorium in Intensive English on campus.)

4. Official academic credentials including:
- List of all subjects/courses studied each year
- Grades or examination results received
- Maximum and minimum grades obtainable
- Certified/attested English translation of all credentials

5.Freshman applicants also need to submit:
- Official scores from the American College Test (ACT) or Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT-I)
- High school diploma or certificate of high school completion

6.Transfer applicants also need to submit:
- Degrees, certificates, diplomas awarded accompanied by leaving results
- Official syllabus in English describing fully all course work attempted

7.College of Nursing applicants must submit a Full Education Course-by-Course Report Evaluation of Foreign Credentials from the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools (CGFNS),
