edm유학센터 입니다. 오늘 소개해 드릴 학교는 University of Texas, Austin 입니다.

텍사스 주립대학은 미국 최고 수준의 연구대학으로 미국 대학 중 6번째로 큰 규모의 도서관을 가지고 있고요

특히 공학프로그램이 우수하며, 인문학, 비즈니스 스쿨도 명성이 굉장히 뛰어납니다. 학교 캠퍼스가 굉장히 넓고, 학생수도 가장 많은 학교 중의 하나입니다.

학교 소개

1883년에 설립된 텍사스 대학교 오스틴(University of Texas at Austin, 약칭 UT Austin, UT, Texas)은 텍사스주 오스틴에 있는 주립대학으로 텍사스 대학교 시스템에서 가장 크고 중심이 되는 대학이다.

'더 타임스'는 2005년 텍사스 대학을 전 세계 공립대학 중 2위, 세계 상위 200개 대학 중 15위로 발표했다.

현재 총학생수는 약 5만명으로 이 중 대학원 생은 1만2000여 명이다.

지금까지 로저 클레멘스 (전 뉴욕 양키스 투수), 로라 부시 (전 퍼스트 레이디), 사냐 리처즈 (베이징 올림픽 육상 금메달리스트) 등 45만명의 졸업생을 배출했다.

  • Submit your completed ApplyTexas Application (the online application is preferred).

Non-refundable $90 application processing fee
  • Must be paid before your application will be processed; must accompany application to avoid delay in processing
  • Online payment through the online application is preferred; pay by credit card (MasterCard or Visa) or electronic check (do not send cash or personal checks.)

Essays
  • Include two admission essays
  • The Optional Essay (Essay C) is strongly recommended

Resume (optional)
  • Submit a resume showing your contributions, talents, honors and abilities in extracurricular, personal and volunteer activities.

Major-specific Requirements
  • To be considered for admission to some majors, applicants must meet additional requirements or submit additional materials. Review the information about program-specific requirements for affected schools & majors when completing your application.

Letters of Recommendation (optional)
  • You may submit two letters of recommendation along with your completed application, but these are not required.

Financial Requirements
  • To enroll at UT Austin, admitted international students must meet the financial requirements established by the International Office.

A

Personal Essay 1

Write an essay in which you tell us about someone who has made an impact on your life and explain how and why this person is important to you.

B

Personal Essay 2

Choose an issue of importance to you—the issue could be personal, school related, local, political, or international in scope—and write an essay in which you explain the significance of that issue to yourself, your family, your community, or your generation.

D

Submit this essay in place of Essay A when applying for admission to architecture, art history, design, studio art, or visual art studies/art education.

Major-specific essay

Personal interaction with objects, images and spaces can be so powerful as to change the way one thinks about particular issues or topics. For your intended area of study (architecture, art history, design, studio art, visual art studies/art education), describe an experience where instruction in that area or your personal interaction with an object, image or space effected this type of change in your thinking. What did you do to act upon your new thinking and what have you done to prepare yourself for further study in this area?

Optional Essay (recommended)

In addition to the two required essays, some applicants choose to submit a response to Essay C.

Essay C is optional and cannot be submitted in place of a required essay.

Students submitting Essay C do so in order to submit additional information to the university about special circumstances,

such as socio-economic standing; educational goals; cultural background; employment, internships,

etc.; race or ethnicity; personal experiences and hardships; personal responsibilities; and any additional information submitted by the applicant.

As an international applicant you are encouraged to submit a response to Essay C in order to provide additional information to the Office of Admissions about your goals,

what drew you to the major that you’ve requested, and why you’ve chosen to apply to UT Austin.
