Gigantic Jaguar E-Type Car Sculpture by Gerry Judah

캘커타 출신인 Gerry Judah는 10살때 가족은 런던으로 이동하여 현재 영국의 유명 아티스트 겸 디자이너로 활동하고 있습니다.
Gerry Judah는 2000년 부터 해 년 마다 영국의 Sussex 지역에서 개최되는 굿우드 스피드 페스티벌 (Goodwood speed festival)에서
자동차 조각물을 선보이고 있습니다.
그의 작업은 Whitechapel Art Gallery, Camden Arts Centre and Yorkshire Sculpture Park에 전시되어져 있으며, 많은 국제 공공 기간
및 개인 컬렉션을 선보이고 있습니다.
올해로 50번째 생일을 맞은 재규어는 Gerry Judah에게 조각상을 요청하였습니다. 지난 2000년에도 그는 재규어 조각을 전시한 바 있습니다.




Gigantic Jaguar E-Type Car Sculpture by Gerry Judah

Gerry Judah was born in 1951 in Calcutta and grew up in West Bengal before his family moved to London when he was ten years old. As a boy, the dramatic landscapes of India and the ornate architecture of its temples, mosques and synagogues with their theatrical rituals had a profound effect on Judah’s developing psyche. These theatrical elements were to resurface in his own later work.
Gerry Judah’s work has also been exhibited at the Whitechapel Art Gallery, Camden Arts Centre and Yorkshire Sculpture Park and has entered many international public and private collections.
Judah’s latest creation is a 91 ft (28 m) high steel sculpture of the Jaguar E-Type car, designed for the Goodwood Festival of Speed which took place in Sussex, UK. Jaguar was asked to provide a sculpture to commemorate the 50th birthday of the classic sports car.
